Welcome to Keel Salon co.

At Keel Salon, we believe beauty should feel effortless — and community should feel just as natural.

Inspired by the backbone of a ship — the keel — which provides balance, stability, and direction, our name reflects our mission: to be steady support for every guest who walks through our doors. One year into our journey, Keel has grown into more than a salon — it has become a space deeply connected to the heart and rhythm of Lancaster City.

As a Navy Veteran-owned salon, we’ve built a laid-back luxury environment where high-end expertise meets genuine connection. Over the past year, we’ve embraced our place within the local community — collaborating, celebrating, and creating a welcoming space where clients feel seen, supported, and inspired.

We specialize in low-maintenance, lived-in styles designed to grow with you. From intentional foiling and custom color to precision cuts, every service is crafted to enhance your natural beauty while fitting seamlessly into real life.

Keel Salon is about balance — elevated style without pressure, expertise without pretense, and a space where confidence feels effortless. Thank you, Lancaster, for being part of our first year. We’re just getting started.

If I’m being honest, building Keel has been one of the most vulnerable things I have ever done.

When you build something from your heart, you don’t just open a business — you expose pieces of yourself. You don’t just hire talent; you invite people into your vision, your standards, your dreams, and sometimes your fears. You carry the weight of wanting to create something meaningful while learning how to hold yourself together at the same time.

Keel isn’t just a name. A keel is the backbone of a ship — the structure beneath the surface that keeps everything steady, balanced, and moving forward even when the waters are rough. That meaning isn’t symbolic to me; it’s personal. This space was built from grit, resilience, and a belief that something authentic could exist here.

This first year has shaped me in ways I never expected. There were moments that stretched me beyond comfort, moments that tested my strength, and moments where I had to choose to keep going even when it felt heavy. And no one can take that grit away. It lives in these walls. It lives in me.

What makes Keel special isn’t perfection — it’s authenticity. The messy, beautiful process of becoming. The willingness to grow, to learn, to rebuild when needed, and to stay rooted in purpose. That authenticity will always be our light.

From the beginning, my intention was to root this space deeply into the Lancaster community — not just as a salon, but as a place where people feel safe, supported, and seen. A space where education is shared openly, where creativity is encouraged, and where connection matters more than ego.

As an owner, a mother, a friend — my heart will always live here. The people who work here and the guests who walk through our doors are not just appointments on a schedule. They are part of the foundation. They are part of the backbone that keeps this space strong.

Keel has taught me that leadership requires both strength and softness. That vulnerability is not weakness — it is courage. And that when something is built with intention, community, and heart, it becomes more than a business. It becomes a place where people belong.

And now, meet the people who help keep these walls supported — the artists, the energy, the hearts that continue to shape what Keel is becoming every single day.

Jaelyn

Jaelyn,

A year ago, you walked through these doors with talent, heart, and a willingness to learn. Today, I see someone who has continued to choose growth, even when growth felt uncomfortable.

You've never acted like you've finished becoming. You ask questions. You stay curious. You embrace challenges because you know every experience has something to teach you. That mindset will take you farther than talent ever could.

There will always be another technique to master, another class to take, another season that asks more of you than the last. I hope you never lose your desire to keep learning while staying true to yourself.

Growth isn't about becoming someone different. It's about uncovering more of who you already are.

I've watched your confidence grow, your craft become more refined, and your trust in yourself deepen with every guest who leaves your chair feeling beautiful.

Keep showing up. Keep refining your craft. Keep protecting your heart. Keep choosing growth over comfort.

The stylist you'll become years from now is being shaped by the decisions you're making today. Never stop finding beauty in the process of becoming.

Thank you for growing alongside Keel and for leaving your mark on this space with kindness, integrity, and quiet determination.

I'm proud of who you are, and even more excited for everything that's still ahead of you.

XO Lauren

anya

Anya,

You still brighten every room you walk into—but since you've been here, I've watched that light be matched by a quiet confidence that makes everyone around you feel stronger.

You carry yourself with purpose. You bring organization to the chaos, and you have a way of making this salon feel smoother simply by being in it. You step in without hesitation, you lead by example, and you help create a space where everyone around you feels supported.

Your curiosity has never faded. You still ask questions. You still seek education. You still dive into color theory because understanding the why matters just as much to you as creating something beautiful. That commitment to learning continues to shape you into an incredible artist.

One of the greatest gifts you've brought to Keel is the way you build up the women around you. You celebrate them, encourage them, and remind us that confidence isn't something we compete for—it's something we help create in one another.

Your guests don't just leave your chair loving their hair. They leave feeling seen, cared for, and more confident than when they walked in.

Thank you for bringing your warmth, your heart, your confidence, and your steady presence to Keel. You've helped make this salon stronger, this team more connected, and this space feel like home.

I'm so proud of the woman and artist you're becoming, and I can't wait to see where your light takes you next.

XO,
Lauren

ola

Ola,

There is a quiet power in you that has always felt steady. Not forced. Not rushed. Just grounded in who you are.

Since you've been here, I've watched that quiet strength grow into something remarkable. You graduated, stepped behind the chair, and have approached every opportunity with purpose. You're always looking ten steps ahead, constantly refining your craft and asking how you can be better.

You're your own toughest critic because you care so deeply about doing things well. I hope you always remember to give yourself the same grace you so freely give everyone else.

What makes you so special is your balance. You're incredibly driven, yet your presence feels soft. You're strong, yet people immediately feel safe with you. There's a serenity about you that can't be taught, and it's something every guest who sits in your chair gets to experience.

I know you'll continue to grow because that's simply who you are. Just never forget that your greatest strength isn't perfection—it's the way you make people feel.

I'm so proud of the woman and artist you've become, and I know this is only the beginning.

XO,
Lauren

Mahogany

Mahogany,

You've become one of the people who defines what Keel feels like.

Your leadership is something people naturally feel the moment they walk through the door. You set the tone, you care for everyone around you, and somehow you always make sure everyone else is okay before yourself.

Your passion for this craft is impossible to miss. You've pushed yourself to perfect your foils, you formulate with so much intention, and extensions seemed to come naturally to you. You don't settle—you keep raising your own standard because you genuinely care about your work.

That same care shows up with your guests. You take the time to understand what they need, you listen with intention, and every recommendation comes from a place of wanting what's truly best for them. They can feel that, and it's one of the reasons they trust you.

More than anything, I'm grateful for the way you show up every day. You've made Keel stronger simply by being yourself.

And one thing I hope you always remember: because you're always taking care of everyone else, we'll always make sure you're taken care of, too.

I'm so proud of you and so grateful you're part of my life.

XO,
Lauren

kayla

Kayla,

It already feels like you've been part of Keel for so much longer than you actually have.

You've fit into this space so naturally—not just as an incredible stylist, but as someone who makes this team feel complete. The conversations between appointments, the laughter in the stylist room, the ideas we bounce off each other, the encouragement, the support... you've become part of all of it.

You have a way of making people feel comfortable, and that shows in every relationship you build—with your guests and with all of us.

I'm excited to watch you continue growing here, not because you have something to prove, but because I know how much you're capable of. Keep trusting yourself, keep sharing your talent, and keep leaning into the stylist you already are.

I'm so grateful you found your way to Keel. It truly feels like you've always belonged here.

XO,
Lauren
