At Keel Salon, we believe beauty is personal. It isn’t about becoming someone different — it’s about recognizing, embracing, and feeling confident in the person looking back at you.
Recently, I challenged each of our stylists to take a deeper look at their own reflection. To think about their growth, their strengths, their weaknesses, the experiences that have shaped them, and ultimately, what brings them to the person they see when they look in the mirror.
A Reflection of You became more than the theme behind our shoot. It became a reflection of what Keel has grown to represent.
Our name comes from the keel of a ship — the backbone beneath the surface that provides balance, stability, and direction. That meaning has always been at the heart of this salon. We are a space filled with strong, talented stylists, each with their own story, perspective, strengths, and artistry. We don’t all look the same, create the same, or move through life the same — and that is exactly the point.
Because our clients don’t either.
When you sit in our chairs, we want to know who you are. What makes you feel confident. What feels authentic to your life. What you love when you look in the mirror — and maybe even what you’re still learning to love.
Our job is not to create a new version of you. It’s to use our expertise and artistry to help the person already there feel seen.
As a Navy Veteran-owned salon in the heart of Lancaster City, Keel was built to be both strong and welcoming — a place where high-level artistry can exist without pretense, where individuality is celebrated, and where support is just as important as the service itself.
There is strength in knowing who you are. There is also strength in having people around you who support who you are becoming.
That is Keel.

If I’m being honest, I don’t think I’m the same woman who first dreamed up Keel — and I’m proud of that.
I’ve grown alongside this space in ways I never could have planned for. I’ve been challenged as an owner, a stylist, a leader, a mother, a friend, and simply as a person. There have been moments that brought out strengths I didn’t know I had and others that forced me to recognize the parts of myself that still needed work.
And I think that’s what growth really is.
It isn’t always about becoming stronger. Sometimes it’s becoming softer. Sometimes it’s learning when to hold on and when to let go. It’s being willing to admit when you got something wrong, trusting yourself when you know something needs to change, and understanding that evolving doesn’t mean losing who you are.
For a long time, I thought being a strong leader meant carrying everything. I’m learning that strength can also look like trusting the people around me. Giving them room to grow. Listening to perspectives different from my own. Letting people surprise me. And allowing Keel to become something shaped not only by my vision, but by the people who have chosen to bring pieces of themselves into it.
That might be one of the most beautiful parts of this for me.
When I look around this space now, I see so much more than stylists behind chairs. I see women I’ve watched grow, struggle, learn, find their confidence, discover their strengths, and sometimes completely surprise themselves. I see their differences — in their personalities, their artistry, the way they connect with people, and the things they each bring into this space that no one else could.
And they’ve changed me, too.
I will always push the people around me to see more in themselves. Sometimes I see their potential before they’re ready to see it. Sometimes I probably push a little harder because of that. But it comes from a place of genuinely wanting the women around me to know how capable they are — not just behind the chair, but as people.
The women you’re about to meet have each left their own mark on this space, and on me. They have trusted me enough to grow here, and in return, they’ve taught me more about leadership, patience, trust, and even myself than they probably realize.
I get to see the little things — the moments that don’t make it to social media. The quiet growth. The confidence that wasn’t there before. The way they show up for each other. The things they’ve overcome. The parts of themselves they’re still discovering.
So these are my love letters to them.
Not as their boss. Not even just as the person who created the space they work in.
Just as someone who has had the privilege of watching them become.

Your leadership is something people naturally feel the moment they walk through the door. You set the tone, you care for everyone around you, and somehow you always make sure everyone else is okay before yourself.
Your passion for this craft is impossible to miss. You've pushed yourself to perfect your foils, you formulate with so much intention, and extensions seemed to come naturally to you. You don't settle—you keep raising your own standard because you genuinely care about your work.
That same care shows up with your guests. You take the time to understand what they need, you listen with intention, and every recommendation comes from a place of wanting what's truly best for them. They can feel that, and it's one of the reasons they trust you.
More than anything, I'm grateful for the way you show up every day. You've made Keel stronger simply by being yourself.
